Parish committee honors Martin Luther King Jr

Despite temperatures hovering around the freezing mark, parish residents turned out to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Ville Platte as The Evangeline Parish Martin Luther King Jr. Foundation Committee hosted the annual memorial celebration on Monday, January 15. The theme was “Living the dream: It starts with me - Spreading hope, courage, and unity,” from Psalm 133. Serving as master of ceremonies was Rev. Jermaine Tezeno, chairman of the committee. Highlighting the day’s events were guest speaker Brian Ardoin Sr., a praise dance performance by Warriors of a Chosen Generation from Macedonia Baptist Church, and a rendition of the “I have a dream” speech by Rev. Antoine Anthony.
