National Day of Prayer is observed

The Town of Mamou took part in the National Day of Prayer with a special service held Thursday, May 2, at the Mamou Recreational Center. Prayers were led by Minister Ricardo “Reko” Goodley, Pastor Joey Reed, Minister Terry Richard, Pastor Adrian Thomas, Minister Wilfred Ardoin, and Pastor Caleb Semien. Shown in the top photo are council members Robin Young, Eugene Manuel, Ricard “Reko” Goodley, Mayor Leisa Deshotel, Chief Patrick Hall, and Pastor Joey Reed. A similar event was held later that day at Hundredfold Coffee in Ville Platte. Shown in the bottom photo is Pastor Stephen Sawtelle of Freedom Family Church as he leads one of the prayers. Other prayers were led by Pastor Kevin West, of First Baptist Church; Pastor Freddie Jack, of St. John Baptist Church; Father Tom Voorhies, of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church; Father Stephen Pellessier, of Our Lady, Queen of All Saints Catholic Church; and Barbara Kaough, of Millennium Church.
