Cedric Simon LaFleur, 94, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully at his home on January 8, 2026. Visitation was held Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Twin City Funeral Home from 6 pm until 9 pm. The visitation will resume today, January 15, 2026, at Holy Cross Catholic Church from 9 a.m.

VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services for Earl Matthews Fontenot, age 76, were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial followed in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Father Mitch Guidry officiated the Funeral Mass.

FAUBOURG - Funeral services for Vincent Louis Fontenot, 76, were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Saint Peter Catholic Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Vincent, a resident of Faubourg, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Justice of the Peace for Ward 4 passes away

A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Larry Guillory, 83, of Ville Platte, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, followed by entombment at Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Visitation was held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
