Geraldine “Dean” Fontenot, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the age of 91. A longtime resident of Ville Platte, Dean lived a life filled with love, kindness, faith, and service to others.

Jean Batiste Andrus Sr., a lifelong resident of Ville Platte, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the age of 79. A time of visitation was held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Graveside services for Mrs. Carolyn Jean Carlson Fontenot will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 25, 2026, at Miller Cemetery, Eunice, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mrs. Fontenot, 87, of Ville Platte, near Pine Prairie, entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

William “Billy” Brignac, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, in his hometown of Ville Platte. Born on March 20, 1944, in Ville Platte, Billy lived a life marked by dedication to family, service, and the community.

VILLE PLATTE - A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Barbara Dupre Colligan at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Our Lady, Queen of All Saints Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Mitchell Guidry. It was followed by interment at Gate’s of Heaven Cemetery.

Archille Vidrine Jr., a lifelong resident of Ville Platte, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at the age of 86. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and will be officiated by Father Mitchell Guidry.
