VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services will be held at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Monday, April 9, 2018 for Theresa Fontenot, 84, who passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 in Opelousas surrounded by her loved ones.
Father Taj Glodd, associate pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Entombment will take place in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Ville Platte.
Theresa Fontenot was born in Sunset on November 15, 1933 to Noah and Cecile Comeaux Kady.
She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Sonnier of Ville Platte and Debbie Fontenot of Baton Rouge; sons, Steve Bruno Fontenot and wife, Pat of Baton Rouge and Gordon Fontenot of Ville Platte; grandchildren, Scott Sonnier and wife, Ashley, Katie Sample and husband, Jon, and Joey Fontenot; and great-grandchildren, Grace Marie Sample, Stella Sample, Russell Sonnier, and Anna Sonnier.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Nelvin “Bruno” Fontenot; parents, Noah and Cecile Comeaux Kady; and sisters, Lydia Brasseux, Eula Faul, and Emmadine Soileau.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte today, Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Monday. Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
