MAMOU-Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, for Raymond Fontenot, Jr., 68, who passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Mamou.
Pastor Jamie Tyler; pastor of Our Saviors Church in Eunice, conducted the service.
Raymond Fontenot, Jr. was born in Mamou, on May 9, 1949 to Raymond Fontenot, Sr. and Rosa Bell Fontenot. He was a retired veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, of 31 years, Belinda Fontenot; two sons, Raymond Shane Fontenot and Randy Charles Passi both of Mamou; three daughters, Jessica Lynn Perdices and husband, Charles of Mamou, “Tee” Raychel Lynn Houle of Magnolia, TX, and Ashley Marie Estes of Mamou; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Michael Wayne Fontenot of Mamou; one sister, Lula F. Perron and husband, Greg of Mamou; two nephews, Paul Tate, III and Sam Tate both of Lafayette.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Fontenot, Sr. and Rosa Bell Fontenot; and one brother, Charles Randy Fontenot.
The family requested that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. A rosary was recited at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018. Visitation resumed on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
