Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Scott for Patrick “Pat” Manuel, 69, who died on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Entombment was in St. Peter & Paul Mausoleum.
Deacon Jim Kincel conducted the funeral services.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Barbara Miller Manuel; two daughters, Kellie Aguillard Saccaro and husband, Steven, and Hayley Manuel De La Canal and husband, Jorge; one son, Sean Patrick Manuel and wife, Ashley; one sister, Hedy Manuel Andrepont and husband, Dean; two brothers, Harris Manuel, Jr. and wife, Charlotte, and Wade Manuel; and nine grandchildren, Mallory, Emily, Nicholas, Anna, Matthew, Ella, Natalie, Xavier and Nora.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harris Manuel, Sr. and Gladys Miller Manuel.
Patrick Manuel was a native of Mamou and resident of Scott for most of his life. He was an All-State football player and a state runner-up wrestler at Mamou High School. He went on to play football at Delta State University and also attended USL and was a member of the wrestling program. Pat and Barbara were active in Lafayette Jaycees. “Pat”, as he was known by family and friends, owned and operated Pat Manuel Service & Equipment, an oilfield service company, for many years. He also sold real estate for Van Eaton & Romero. Pat enjoyed traveling across the country and overseas. He spent many exciting years with his family on his houseboat “Miss Kat”, at Red’s Point in Toledo Bend. Pat was very family oriented, and loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers were Sean Manuel, Jorge De La Canal, Steven Saccaro, Nicholas Saccaro, John Gerdsen and Dean Andrepont.
The family requested that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille’s Scott location on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and continued on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
