VILLE PLATTE-Funeral services will be held at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Monday, January 29, 2018, for Maydell Mary Briley, 91, who passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in Ville Platte.
Father Gene Tremie will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Maydell was born in Ville Platte, on November 18, 1926 to Martin and Aline Lafleur Doucet.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Laffosse; son, Coach Mackie Duos; grandchildren, Joseph Laffosse, Jr., Michelle Laffosse Fontenot, Nicole Laffosse Bertrand, Malcolm Reed Duos; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; and her godchildren, Father Gene Tremie and Betty Soileau.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Aline Lafleur Doucet; her first husband, Rodney “t Rod” Duos; her second husband, Morris Briley; two brothers, Malcolm Doucet and Gerald “Jerry” Doucet.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte today, Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday by Father Gene Tremie. Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
