TATE COVE - Funeral services for Kathy McDaniel Riley, 59, were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Ville Platte, and burial followed in the Fontenot Cemetery in Tate Cove. Rev. Kevin West officiated services.
Visitation was held Monday, September 17, 2018, from 2 p.m.-9 p.m., with a rosary recited, and visitation resumed again Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at 8 a.m.
Kathy, a resident of Tate Cove, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018, at her residence.
She loved playing with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and loved people, and never met a stranger.
She will be deeply missed by her loving family, daughters, Kathy Jo Ortego and husband, Miguel of St. Landry, Johnanna Soto and husband, Isaac of San Antonio, and Roxie Mower of Lecompte; companion, Albin St. Romain of Hessmer; brothers, Daniel McDaniel and Tadius McDaniel, Jr., both of Ville Platte, and Phillip McDaniel of Missouri; sister, Geneva Brown of Ville Platte; grandchildren, Hailey Menard, Shana Menard, Isabella Soto, and Jacob Soto; and great grandchild, Drayson Thibodeaux. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tadius McDaniel, Sr., and Inez Fontenot McDaniel; husband, Gary Wayne Riley; and sister, Olla Mae McDaniel.
