VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services were held Monday, April 9, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Ville Platte for John “Clyde” Deville, age 67, who passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his residence. Burial followed in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
Clyde was a native and lifelong resident of Ville Platte. He passed away unexpectantly while battling an ongoing illness. He was the owner of Chicken King in Opelousas and Port Barre for over 40 years. He loved his family and friends and always enjoyed cooking for others.
Survivors include his children, Stacy Deville Boudreaux and her husband, Raleigh Boudreaux of Opelousas; Dana Deville Quebedeaux and her husband, Keith Quebedeaux of Washington; Kelly Deville Dupuis and her husband, Garrett Dupuis of Opelousas; and John Clyde Deville, Jr. and his wife, Ali Vidrine Deville of Ville Platte; his brothers Joseph W. Deville and Steve Deville; his grandchildren, Morgan Sellers, Dylan Boudreaux, Ashton Boudreaux, Charlie Quebedeaux, Ava Quebedeaux, Gabriel Dupuis, Levi Dupuis, Micah Dupuis, Wesley Deville, and Rhett Deville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Waddie Deville and his mother, Lilly Mae Deville; his sister Mary Ella Ardoin Soileau; and his brother, Tommy Deville.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 8,2018 with the rosary recited at 6:45 p.m. Visitation resumed Monday, April 9, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Pallbearers were Keith Quebedeaux, Raleigh Boudreaux, Garrett Dupuis, Dylan Boudreaux, John Deville, Jr., and Craig Ardoin.
