VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara “Joann” Alexander Eastin, 85, will be held at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, February 15, 2018 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation began Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 9 a.m.-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7:15, by Deacon Ben Soileau. Visitation will resume again today, Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 8a.m.
Mrs. Eastin, a resident of Ville Platte, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Mercy Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Harold Burke Eastin of Ville Platte; son Dennis K. Eastin and wife, Debbie; daughters Laine Eastin Latour and husband, Clyde, Shawn Eastin Manuel and husband, Ben all of Ville Platte; brothers Gene Alexander of Lafayette, Don Wayne Alexander and wife, Sherrel of Ville Platte, Mickey Alexander and wife, Missy of CO; sister Kathy Coldiron and husband, Rusty of Ville Platte; nine grandchildren Samantha LaHaye, Deke Eastin, Gene Latour, Ashlee Michot, Matthew Eastin, Haley Hammonds, Meggin Whitmore, William Alexander “Billy” Eastin, Daniel Scott; and 12 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Katie Cambell Alexander, son William Burke “Billy” Eastin, and sister Bobby Joyce Sylvester.
