Blondie as she was known by everyone was a very loving and caring person. Much of her time was spent taking care of others. She was an LPN by trade having worked for Ville Platte Medical Center and for Dr. Ransom Vidrine, MD. After her nursing career, Blondie worked as a bookkeeper for the East Side Water System. She was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte and loved spending time at the Adoration Chapel for over 20 years. Blondie also enjoyed sewing, reading, and sitting outside. As she raised her family, she lovingly sewed the clothes her children wore. Blondie was a very special lady who will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
She is survived by her son Kenneth Fontenot and wife, Kay of Parks; and daughters Marcia Fontenot and husband, Daniel of Eunice; and Janice Savoy and husband, Floyd of Ville Platte. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her eight grandchildren: Adam, Scotty, Jessica, Andre, Joey, Ben, Nicole, and Joshua and her 11 great grandchildren.
