Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Greater Emmanuel Baptist Church for Clinton Ruben Austin, Jr., 56, of Picayune, MS who passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018. Pastor Alex Wesco, Jr. officiated the service.
Clinton Ruben Austin, Jr. was born in Ville Platte, on March 15, 1961 to the late Clinton Austin, Sr. and Mary Lean Tezeno, both of Ville Platte.
Clinton turned his life over to Christ at a very young age at Ninth Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor M. L. Thomas in Ville Platte. He later moved to Picayune, MS where he was a member of Doing It Together Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Leslie Blakely Jr. where he was a faithful member. Clinton was educated in Ville Platte. He was a very loving, caring person, He made sure he stayed in touch with his family and friends, especially his mother. He enjoyed getting together with family and friends. He loved to cook; especially barbeque. His employment was construction, painting, roofing, but had other domestic jobs.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving, devoted wife, Lucy Austin, of 11 years; his lovely mother, Mary Lean Tezeno, of Ville Platte; four brothers, Barry Corbin (Jewel), of Chicago, IL, Nathan W. Austin (Kayla), of Killian, Craig S. Austin, of Long New, TX, and Lucas O. Austin, of Ville Platte; four sisters, Peggy A. Thomas, of Ville Platte, Linda F. Latique, of Picayune, MS, M. Emaily “Tammy” Austin, of Slidell, and Dionne Austin, of Lake Charles; two God- Children, Jinko K. “Coco” Richard
Williams, of Humble, TX and Krystopher McDonald, of Picayune, MS.
He is preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents, Ernest and Mae Mitchell Austin; maternal grandparents, Levie and Emily Lewis Tezeno; brother, Vincent Dwight “Tony” Austin; sister, Barbara “Tee” Thomas; nephew, Titus M. Austin; and niece, Deja Rose Austin; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation was one hour prior to service at the church. Interment was in New Palestine Cemetery, Picayune MS.
Funeral services were entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home.
