Hospitals team up to donate school supplies

Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte and Savoy Medical Center in Mamou recently came together to help the community by holding a Back to School Drive. Items collected were pencils, notebooks, crayons, markers, hand sanitizer, tissue, and backpacks. Drop off locations were the following: Mercy Clinic Locations- Evangeline Dermatology, Fontenot Family Clinic, Fontenot Internal Medicine, Mercy Regional Family Healthcare, Mercy Rural Health Clinic, St. Landry Family Healthcare; Savoy Clinic Locations- Basile Rural Health Clinic, Elton Rural Health Clinic, Eunice Family Medicine, Savoy Family Care, Mamou Family Care, Ville Platte Family Care, Pine Prairie Community Clinics, Savoy Family Healthcare, Savoy Internal Medicine. Maryann Fontenot, family engagement coordinator for the Evangeline Parish School District, said the supplies will be shared with elementary schools in the district. “Thank you to all who helped with this community effort to support the students of the district,” she said.
