The Evangeline Parish District Attomey's office announced the January 22,
2026 conviction of Christopher John Lalonde on twenty-one (21) counts of
Pomography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of Thirteen wherein he was
sentenced to serve thirty (30) years at hard labor. Lalonde was also convicted of
eighty-nine (89) counts of Pomography Involving Juveniles wherein he was
sentenced to twenty (20) years at hard labor to run concurrent.
District Attomey Trent Brignac commends Assistant District Attorney Jacob
Fusilier for his efforts in leading the prosecution of this case. DA Brignac would like
to extend his gratitude to the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit, the
Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the Evangeline Parish
Sheriff s Office for their cooperative efforts in conducting this investigation.
The collaboration between all agencies working together is imperative to keep
our children in Evangeline Parish safe. The Evangeline Parish District Attomey's
Office will continue to prosecute perpetrators who prey on the most vulnerable
members of Evangeline Parish to the fullest extent of the law.
