Wade Riley, who faithfully served the Pine Prairie community as Justice of the Peace for Ward 4 for 15 years and was a proud member of First Baptist Church in Pine Prairie, entered eternal rest on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Prairie Manor Nursing Home.
Memorial services for Riley were held at 12 noon on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at First Baptist Church, Pine Prairie. Reverend Lee Walton officiated, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Originally from Ville Platte, according to his obituary, Riley moved to Pine Prairie in the early 1990s, where he built a life rooted in love, family, and service. He met the love of his life, Theresa “Totsie” Riley, through mutual friends and they were married in 1995, joining their lives and creating a close, loving family with his adoring stepdaughters. He was a devoted husband, stepfather, and proud grandfather who never missed an opportunity to attend his grandchildren’s events. He had a passion for cooking, golfing, fishing, and bringing people together.
His love for cooking extended far beyond his home, as he generously cooked for the Silver Eagles program, supported Pine Prairie softball, and volunteered his time whenever food and fellowship were needed.
When his parents faced the difficult decision to close Riley’s Bakery due to his father’s health, Riley stepped in and purchased the family business, preserving not only his family’s livelihood, but also a cherished town staple. He later expanded the business, changing its name to Riley’s Bakery and Catering, and through his involvement with the local Jaycees and other civic organizations-combined with his talent for cooking and entertaining-the business flourished. He later carried his culinary skills and dedication into his role as cook foreman at the Federal Detention Center in Oakdale, where he took great pride in his work. His legacy lives through the lives he touched, the meals he lovingly prepared, and the community he served so faithfully.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luma and Ruth Ellen Riley; two brothers, Gary Wayne Riley and Glenn Dale Riley; and one sister, Candace Riley- Rockett.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife, Theresa “Totsie” Riley, of Pine Prairie; three stepdaughters, Jaimi Vidrine (Quentin), of Pine Prairie, Vikki Aymond (Eric), of Pine Prairie, and Windi Attales (Mitch), of Aledo, Texas; two sisters, Sandra Riley - Thibodeaux (John), of Chataignier, and Dawn Riley, of Ville Platte; three granddaughters, Erica Aymond, Gracie Vidrine, and Carlie Vidrine; four grandsons, Ty Aymond, Brayden Aymond, Maddox Attales, and Deacon Attales; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation was held at First Baptist Church, Pine Prairie, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 9 a.m. until time of service.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Prairie Manor Nursing Home and Heart of Hospice for their compassionate care.
