The holiday season began in Evangeline Parish with Christmas parades this past weekend. In the top photo, Santa Claus sends Christmas greetings while riding atop a fire truck in the Pine Prairie parade on Saturday, December 6. In the top right photo, a fire truck is lit up with Christmas lights during a rainy parade in Mamou on Sunday, December 7. In the bottom photo, Frosty the Snowman and the Gingerbread Man prance down the street during the Chataignier parade earlier in the day on Sunday.
