Swing Masters Golf Academy provides year-round access to golf instruction, mentorship, and personal development to underserved youth of the surrounding communities. Headquartered in Eunice, golf instruction and equipment are provided at no cost, along with nutritional refreshments and hydrating beverages. Junior youth ages 7 – 17 are accepted on a rolling basis to participate in the golf clinic. Also participating as golf mentor/coach is Ville Platte native Attorney and Golfer Courtnee Green. Watty Jones, special assistant to the board of directors and a resident of Ville Platte, is featured here, along with board members and golf coaches, presenting the congratulatory trophy to Laila Badger, who has only been playing golf for five years. She made history during the Acadiana Area High School Golf League Tournament by sinking a hole-in-one on the sixth hole—an accomplishment never before achieved by a Bulldog golfer. On June 7, the academy celebrated this great accomplishment with Badger, family, friends, and junior golfers of the surrounding areas.
