PINE PRAIRIE - With only 300 soldiers, the ancient Spartan army withstood an assault from the Persian army led by King Xerxes at the Battle of Thermopylae.
Kynnedi Ware, a freshman pitcher on the Pine Prairie softball team, also found success with a similar number. This season she recorded 332 strikeouts, which is a new record at the school.
