UTLX is crowned champions

On Saturday, June 29, Union Tank Car basketball team was crowned 2024 champions of the Evangeline/St. Landry Intramural Employee Basketball League. This league showcases the basketball talent of employees who compete against each other for a championship while representing their employers. This league operates under the direction of Germaine Seraille. This year’s championship team also had individual winners. Lee Merrill Freeman was named coach of the year, Javonte “TayTay” Sonnier was named league MVP, MaCaully Hunt received the best rebounder award, and Brandon Thomas was named the league’s best shooter for 2024. UTLX has won the league championship for the second time making its company the first to complete this huge accomplishment. The team would like to thank Tom Murray, Lance Landreneau, and the UTLX family for their continuous support given to the organization and the community. Also, sincere gratitude is given to Union President Jimmy Bradley for his individual contribution as well.
