RE: Weather forecast for 4-10-2024
Dear Evangeline Parish Parents/Legal Guardians/Families/Communities:
We are closely monitoring weather forecasts indicating the possibility for severe weather conditions in Evangeline Parish tomorrow (4-10-2024). At this time, no decision has been made regarding school closures; however, please be prepared for the possibility of closures or early dismissals due to tomorrow’s potential weather event.
Due to our parish's sizable geographic area, weather impacts may vary from one community to another. As you make decisions regarding your child's attendance, we encourage you to prioritize safety based on the specific conditions in your area.
We will continue to closely review updated weather information and forecasts as they are shared by the National Weather Service (NWS) and our Evangeline Parish 911/Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP).
It is our intention to finalize decisions about school closures by 5:30 AM tomorrow.
Your child's safety continues to be our top priority, and we fully support parental decisions to keep students at home, if weather-related conditions are unsuitable in your part of the parish. Additionally, we are committed to the wellbeing of all EPSB school & district employees.
