.Dangerous Black Ice on Bridges and Overpasses Will Continue...
Despite the wintry precipitation of freezing rain, freezing drizzle,
and sleet ending in some locations, and will be ending for the
entire area overnight, residual moisture and air temperatures
well below freezing will keep conditions icy on bridges and
overpasses through the night into mid to late Tuesday morning.
This situation known as black ice or invisible ice is a deadly
driving hazard as this patchy ice on roadways can not easily be
seen.
Likely sunny and breezy conditions on Tuesday morning should melt
and evaporate the ice.
Travel is not recommended tonight into Tuesday morning over
bridges and overpasses and some bridges and overpasses have been
closed. Check with local officials on these closures.
