Christmas events in Evangeline Parish got underway on Saturday, December 2, with the annual parade in Pine Prairie. Other events over the weekend included celebrations in Chataignier and Ville Platte. In the top left photo, Jeremiah Wilson (left) and Paul Thomas (right) enjoy a bowl of gumbo at Ville Platte City Hall after the parade on Sunday, December 3. In the bottom left photo, Queen Cotton Amelia Mickal (left) and Tournoi Queen Shelbi Lynn Guidry (right) ride in Ville Platteās parade. In the top right photo, Santa Claus rides atop a fire truck in the Pine Prairie parade. In the bottom right photo, The Grinch rides in a horse drawn buggy while participating in the Chataignier parade on Sunday.
