Inaugural 100 Girl Lock-in is held

Evangeline Community Action’s C.W.I.A. (Christian Women In Action) hosted its inaugural 100 Girl Lock-In. The theme for this grand event was “I Bloom, You Bloom, We Bloom together” because we cannot do it alone and it takes a village. This event focused on motivating, supporting, and empowering our young girls to be all they can be. Carleen Bellard, executive director of Evangeline Community Action stated, “Thank God for the vision and placing an awesome group of women together to make this much needed event a reality. All of our guest speakers were dynamic and many were moved by the heart felt testimonies.” The organizers would like to thank all the presenters: Ashley Nelson (FNP), Kizzy Shelvin (S.L.E.A.S.A.C.), Bianca Videlle, Ms. Carla (EPSB), Irena Thomas, Lorenzo Richard (Krewe De Evangeline), Katina Serie (D.A.R.E.), Latrese Wilson, TMM, and Susan Titus (Confidence Campaign).
