Lady Panthers overwhelm SJ-P, improve to 12-4

By: RHETT MANUEL Sports Editor PLAUCHEVILLE – It’s lining up to be a special year for the Pine Prairie Lady Panthers. The Lady Panthers ran up their overall record to 12-4 this season with a 16-0 win in three innings over St. Joseph’s-Plaucheville behind another sterling Ava Kordish performance. Kordish threw another perfect game, giving up no hits and striking out six hitters in the brief contest. Kordish threw only 35 pitches, 27 strikes, in the contest. To support Kordish the Lady Panthers pounded out 13 hits, with six going for extra bases. She had two doubles and Camryn Aguillard added a triple to help lead the charge. Pine Prairie got stronger as the game went on. They plated three runs in the opening frame, six in the second and seven in the third to overwhelm their opponents. Kordish started the first off with a single, Alaina Boutte singled in Sydney Fontenot to open the tally, an Aguillard single scored Harlie Arnaud and Khaki Olsen walked to score Boutte. Kordish kept it rolling at the dish in the second inning, doubling in Victoria Briscoe to start the six-run burst. RBI hits by Aguillard, Olsen and Camron Lafleur continued the onslaught. Aguillard’s third inning triple scored A. Schexnayder and Arnaud. Aguillard then scored on an error, Olsen and Chloe Adcock scored on an error and Briscoe and Kordish lashed RBI doubles to close out the scoring. All but one Lady Panther who entered the lineup collected a hit, with six getting RBI onto the scorecard. Kordish finished 3-for-3 with two RBI, with Aguillard also going 3-for-3 with three RBI.
