Dear Visitors,
On behalf of the Louisiana Cotton Festival Association and volunteers, I would like to extend an invitation to join us for the 68th annual Louisiana Cotton Festival held October 11-16, in the great City of Ville Platte.
The opening of the festival is Tuesday, October 11, at the North Side Civic Center with the resumption of the Contradanse and the crowning of Le Roi et La Reine. Wednesday’s activities include the 4-H Cotton Pickin’ Pet Show and the 4-H Cotton Food Fest.
The Fais-Do-Do (street dance) under the big pavilion will be from 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday.
Entertainment for the evening will be: DJ Marshall Vidrine, who will perform from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Shot Gun Lillie Band, who will play from 9 p.m. to midnight.
Admission is $6 for adults and children 13 years and up. $2 for children 6-12 years in age and five years and under are free.
Join us Saturday as we hold our First Annual Black Pot Cook-off. Music will be provided by DJ Laptop, who will play favorite ballpark hits. There will also be 2KB Farm LLC and Petting to provide family friendly entertainment during the day.
The King and Queen Cotton’s Coronation will then be at 5:30 p.m. Admission for the coronation is $5.
Sunday wraps up our festival with the Harvest Mass at Our Lady, Queen of All Saints Catholic Church at 8:30 a.m. The public is welcome, as we give thanks for our bountiful harvest and many blessings.
The Grand Parade of Cotton will make its way down Main Street at noon.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our Festival board members, families, friends, and our sponsors (Evangeline Parish Tourism and Cleco) for their dedication and tireless efforts to continue our 68-year-old tradition of the Louisiana Cotton Festival.
A special thanks goes to the Cotton Pickers, Mrs. Kim Deville and all 4-H members, Evangeline Bank and Trust for helping with the pet show, local police and fire departments, Sheriff Charles Guillory and sheriff’s posse, and our Mayor Jennifer Vidrine and city council. It’s been my privilege and honor to serve as your president this year and to be associated with the festival for the last 32 years.
