Nothing takes Jesus by surprise. He always sees where our actions are leading us. He sees the difficulties we are about to get ourselves into, and He is thoughtful concerning us, even when we are without thought and without fear or suspicion there is anything to think about. It is the business of Jesus, so to speak, to be thoughtful for every one of us, for we are His creation. His concern for us is natural, for He is our heavenly father.
This world is a sinful world, a suffering world, where on a daily basis, thousands are on the brink of ruin and misery. But, happily, it is also a world constantly in the thoughts of God, our loving, compassionate father. There isn’t a sparrow that falls to the earth that Jesus doesn’t know and care about. He knows that sooner or later, every one of us will have to accept His ministry. That doesn’t mean we will accept Him, but when the chips are down we are quick to call upon Him for favors.
Everyday, people wake up with a want and a need which is more pressing and terrible than any body can feel. More pressing than hunger or thirst or freedom is the need for salvation, and Jesus is ready to welcome the sinner in with open arms and forgiveness.
