Arrests are made in theft of equipment

On December 30, 2021, Investigators with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office were assigned a burglary where a
tractor, a side by side ATV, and lawn equipment were stolen from the 5000 Blk. of Beaver Rd. within the unincorporated
area of Evangeline Parish. During the investigation, information was gathered by inmates in a local jail facility that the
below two suspects were involved in the theft. During the investigation, the stolen side by side ATV was recovered
which led to further identification of both subjects where one of the two confessed to the burglary. Both subjects were
later arrested and charged for simple burglary, and criminal trespassing. They are currently being held in an outer parish
correctional facility awaiting other charges and will later be extradited to the Evangeline Parish Jail once a bond is met
for the unrelated charges.
