Minister’s Corner: Don’t trust your feelings

Often times when we are under attack by the enemy, we look at circumstances, listen to our feelings and base our beliefs on what appears to be true rather that on the promise of God’s word. Your feelings may tell you God has deserted you, but in the Bible, Jesus promised specifically, “I will never leave thee, nor foresake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5 KJV)
Your feelings may tell you this is more than you can bare, but the Bible specifically tells us, in 1 Corinthians 10:13 and Philippians 4:13, that you will never face a situation that is more than you can handle, and God will give you the strength to face anything that comes your way. Your feelings may tell you to give up because God has more important things to worry about than you, but the Bible says, “God watches over you and you are important to Him.” (Luke 12:24)
When that feeling of panic sets in, the feeling that tells you the worst is about to happen, don’t listen to it. When you’re overwhelmed with the feeling you are alone and God is nowhere to be found, don’t believe it. Don’t trust your feelings, trust God. And when your feelings run out of control, cry out to God for help. He will hear and answer you!
