VIDRINE – Funeral services were held at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, for James Kirt Guillory, 59, who passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021.
Father Billy Massie, pastor of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, was celebrant of the Mass and conducted the funeral services.
Burial took place in New St. Ann’s Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte.
At the request of the family, visitation was held on Monday, May 31, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. A Rosary was prayed in his honor on Monday evening at 6 p.m. Visitation resumed on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, from 9 a.m. until time of service.
James Kirt Guillory was born on October 13, 1961, in Mamou to James Winston and Janice Johnson Guillory. Happily married to his wife, Sharon, for 40 years, they had four children, Cole, Jill, Corey, and Lauri. His greatest joy in his life was his family. He was known as “Paw-Paw” by his nine beautiful grandchildren. Spending time and playing with his grandchildren was his favorite pastime. Kirt enjoyed being outdoors working with his horses and cattle. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was an amazing mentor and role model. His family and friends will miss him dearly but rejoice in knowing he is celebrated in Heaven.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Bogard Guillory; two sons, Cole Guillory and Corey Guillory and wife, Kristen; two daughters, Jill Guillory Stevens and husband, Robbie, and Lauri Guillory Haller and husband, Ryan; nine grandchildren, Jackson Guillory, Aeden Guillory, Leo Guillory, Elle Guillory, Leah Stevens, Charlie Stevens, Corbin Haller, Cooper Haller, and Walker Haller; two sisters, Karen Guillory Ardoin and husband, Jimmy, and Kristina Guillory Landry and husband, Shawn; two brothers, Keith Guillo ry and wife, Liz, and Kent Guillory and wife, Paula; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Winston and Janice Johnson Guillory.
