Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte provided the setting for a lovely 6:30 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, June 1, 2019, uniting Miss Ashlyn Elizabeth Deshotel and Trenton Kyle Ortego, in Holy Matrimony, with Father Blake Dubroc officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. Jonathan Mark Deshotel and Mrs. Lisa Deshotel, of Ville Platte. The groom is the son of Mr. Michael Ortego and Mrs. Christine Ortego, of Ville Platte.
Given in marriage by her father and mother, the bride was radiant in her delicate and dramatic illusion back covered with antique symmetrical lace detailing. The gown boasted an illusion lace bateau neck with a mermaid body style. The ensemble was complemented with rose gold accessories with rhinestone accents. The bride also wore her grandmother’s 1950s pearl clutch.
The bridal bouquet consisted of a crescent shaped arrangement with white roses, blue deliriums, blue statice, and blue and yellow ranuculus.
Kelsey Fusilier Trahan, of Scott, served as matron of honor for the special occasion. She wore a light blue floor length gown featuring a ranched crisscross bodice and full lace up back.
Bridesmaids were Cathy Miller, of Eunice; Margaret Deshotel, of Alexandria; and Heidi Ortego, of Ville Platte.
Demanzo (Smiley) Skinner, of Ville Platte, served as best man for the evening ceremony.
Groomsmen were Scott Deshotel, of Mamou; and John Powell and Kaleb Deshotel, both of Ville Platte.
The flower girl was Sophie Belle Baquet, and the ring bearer was Jacques Mathieu Bacquet.
The readings were read by Emily Deshotel and Madison Guillory.
For her daughter’s special day, the bride’s mother was attired in a floor length navy formal with blue embroidered lace.
The groom’s mother chose a T-length navy formal with blue embroidered lace.
A reception followed at Wolff Banquet and Reception Hall where the reception hall was decorated with a shabby chic theme. There was a rustic feel with rhinestone accents to play off the historic Wolff Ballroom.
Following a honeymoon to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple has made their home in Sunset.
