The engagement of Ashlyn Elizabeth Deshotels, the daughter of Mr. Jonathan Deshotels and Mrs. Lisa Deshotels of Ville Platte, to Mr. Trenton Kyle Ortego, the son of Mr. Michael Ortego and Mrs. Christine Ortego, has been announced.
The couple will exchange wedding vows Saturday, June 1, 2019, during a 6:30 p.m. ceremony at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte.
Miss Deshotels’ mother is the former Lisa Guillory of Vidrine. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Darnell Guillory and Mrs. Jeanette Campbell Guillory and Mr. James Bell Deshotels and the late Mrs. Melba Ruth Deshotel Deshotels. She is a 2007 graduate of Mamou High School, a 2011 graduate of LSUE with an associates of science degree, and a 2012 graduate of LSUA with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. She will finish from UL-L in 2020 with her master’s degree in human resources and is currently employed at Grace Hospice and Palliative Care.
Mr. Ortego’s mother is the former Christine Guillory of Ville Platte. He is the grandson of Mr. Larry Gene Guillory and Mrs. Maedell Faye Dupre and the late Mr. Leroy Marvin Ortego and Mrs. Nina Mae Ritter. He is a 2004 graduate of Sacred Heart High School and 2005 graduate of T.H. Harris in Opelousas. He is currently employed at Cameron-Schlumberger.
