A 17-year old Ville Platte resident was arrested Sunday in Lake Charles when police were called to the scene of an altercation that led to a shooting death.

This year’s Food for Families Food Drive is set for Tuesday, December 10. People are encourage to help fill food pantries in Acadiana by donating non-perishable food.
Horace Johnson, a 12-year employee of the Ville Platte City Marshal’s office, has announced his candidacy for the position on the April ballot.
Donations are being accepted to support the James Stephens Montessori School in Ville Platte. The school was burglarized twice in November.
