The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons: • Charles R. Johnson, 38, Ville Platte, was arrested October 19, 2022, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for illegal possession of stolen things.

Stolen chain saws from Turkey Creek are located

Staff Report On Monday, October 17, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Patrol Division stopped a car for a traffic violation. Upon coming into contact with the driver, there was a smell of marijuana coming from the car. The driver admitted to having marijuana and gave it to the deputy.

Tempers flare over eight-lane track at Ville Platte High

By: HEATHER BOGARD Associate Editor Part way through the October 19, meeting of the Evangeline Parish School Board, deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene when things got heated over a discussion of building an eight-lane track at Ville Platte High School.

Staff Report On Thursday, October 13, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department’s Narcotic unit assisted the La. Probation and Parole department at a residence located at 154 Bussy Lane in Ville Platte. A probation compliance search was conducted, and narcotics were located.
