WHITEVILLE - Funeral services for Mr. Tony Guy Whaley, 74, were held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Church of the Resurrection in Whiteville. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Tony, a resident of Whiteville, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at his residence.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office has reported a missing person has been found. The Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department was attempting to locate 74-year-old Stephen Paul Hallam, of Ville Platte. He is described as a white male, being 6-foot 1-inch, and having blue eyes and grey hair.
