Carol N. Landreneau (1936-2025), son of Otis Landreneau and Clamie Fusilier, died peacefully in his sleep. A private memorial service celebrated his life. Carol was a chemical engineer, and his hobbies were sports, fishing, and gardening.

Sergeant Darrian Guillory of the Ville Platte Police Department reports further investigation into the human remains discovered on December 23, 2024, on Wabush Road, north of Ville Platte. A search & recovery mission took place from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 11.

The Tri-Parish workforce dropped 2% in November compared to the November 2024 count according to statistics released by the Louisiana Workforce Commission. The workforce in November totaled 66,544, down 1,327 from 67,871 in November 2024.
