The Ville Platte Fire Department, on Sunday, March 23, at approximately 9:56 p.m., was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire with occupants inside on the 200 block of E. Jefferson St., in Ville Platte.

Fontenot is indicted in wife’s murder

Ray Charles Fontenot, Jr., age 33, was indicted on the charge of second degree murder for the death of Brittany Guillory Fontenot on Wednesday, March 26. The charge stems from an incident which occurred on or about April 13, 2023. Arraignment on this case is set for May 5.
