Just prior to the beginning of a jury trial Monday, a suspect in the murder of her husband changed her plea to guilty on the charge of manslaughter.
Jessica Marie Williams pled guilty before the Honorable Chuck West and received a sentence of 15 years at hard labor with credit for time served since the date of arrest.
Williams was arrested following the death of her husband, Kenneth Hall, on June 14, 2018.
According to a press release from Ville Platte Chief of Police Neal Lartigue at the time of the incident, “officers with the VPPD responded to a report of a male subject who was non-responsive at 306 West Lincoln Rd.”
“The release went on to state that “upon arrival the officers discovered that there had been a domestic dispute and the black male subject was found unresponsive and was pronounced deceased by the coroner.”
