Dylan Williams, 28, of Ville Platte, escaped from custody while in the Bayou Correctional Center in Madison Parish.
According to a spokesman for the parish’s sheriff’s office reported Williams scaled a razor wire fence on Tuesday, June 2, at around 10 p.m.
The Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office does not believe Williams is armed, but he is considered dangerous.
Williams was incarcerated for his alleged role in an incident where a delivery driver was held at gunpoint here in Ville Platte earlier this year in February. Williams, along with Jarvis Jacoby Gallow, allegedly kidnapped the driver and tossed him on the side of the road.
The two suspects were tracked by Evangeline Parish 911 dispatchers to Vidor, Texas, where they fled on foot before being captured by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
At the time of the incident. Williams was booked into the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to await a court hearing on charges he faces there, in relation to this incident. Upon completion of processing in Orange County, Williams was extradited to the Ville Platte Police Department on charges of armed robbery, aggravated kidnapping and car-jacking.
