VPPD responds to fatal stabbing

Officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded over the past weekend to a fatal stabbing.
“On June 15, 2019, at approximately 4:45 a.m.,” Chief of Police Neal Lartigue said in a press release, “officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing that took place on Rev. E.D. Alfred Street. Upon arrival, officers found a black male, later identified as Jacorey Gallow, lying on the floor of the residence with a stab wound to his chest. According to the report, Jasmine Gallow had stabbed Jacorey Gallow once in the chest area.”
The press release continued as follows: “Acadian Ambulance arrived on scene and transported Gallow to Mercy Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.”
Chief Lartigue stated that the incident remains under investigation.
