VPPD responds to an apartment shooting

Officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a shooting last weekend at a residential complex on the northside of the city.
“On June 29, 2019, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to an apartment complex on North Chataignier Stree,” said Police Chief Neil Lartigue in a statement. “Upon arrival, officers learned that the resident of the apartment heard a noise and then found two bullet holes in her wall. The Ville Platte Police Department did not receive any calls reporting shots being fired in the area and no one reported seeing anyone suspicious in the area. The incident remains under investigation.”
