VPPD arrests four in two separate incidents that occurred on same day

The Ville Platte Police Department made arrests last Wednesday in connection with incidents that occurred at two separate businesses in the city.
The first of which happened that morning. “On April 11, 2018, at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a report of a burglary at a business located in the 200 block of East Magnolia,” said Chief Neal Lartigue in a press release. “Upon arrival, officers learned that suspects had cut a lock and entered the business at some point during the night of April 10. The suspects stole two dirt bikes from inside the business and left heading in different directions. Detectives through their investigation made one arrest and are seeking two others.”
The press release continued, “Arrested was Corey Arvie, 23, of 205 David Street, Ville Platte. Arvie was charged with simple burglary (felony), criminal damage to property and criminal trespassing. Arvie was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail on a $60,000.00 bond and was transferred to the Evangeline Parish Jail where he remains incarcerated. Detectives would like to speak with Dakollian Deville and Abselon Herbert in reference to this incident.”
The other incident occurred hours later. Chief Lartigue in a press release stated, “On April 11, 2018, at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a disturbance call at a business on Tate Cove Road. Upon arrival, officers gathered information regarding the disturbance. Through witness information and video surveillance, it was determined that three people were involved. All three suspects were in an argument which resulted in a fight.”
Arrested were the following:
Brandon Marques Jason, 21, of 1224 Division Road, Ville Platte. Jason was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail and charged on two counts of simple battery. Jason bonded out on a $2,000.00 bond.
Tatiana Freeman, 20, of 349 Doral Street, Sunset, was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail and charged with disturbing the peace by fighting. Freeman bonded out on a $200.00 bond.
Alexis Chapman, 20 of 216 Chestnut Street, Mamou, was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail and charged with disturbing the peace by fighting. Chapman bonded out on a $200.00 bond.”
