Voluntary evacuation is ordered for Evangeline Parish

Evangeline Parish Police Jury President Ryan "LeDay" Williams has issued a voluntary evacuation for flood prone and low lying areas and/or if you live in a structure that may not withstand high winds. You should make arrangements now to stay with family or friends or, possibly, go west towards Texas. Don't wait until the storm is here to make plans. Make your preparations today before the storm. Stay safe.
Also, the Sunday, October 11, edition of the Ville Platte Gazette will be sent to the press today Thursday, October 8. The Gazette office will be closed tomorrow, October 9.
