Turkey Creek Police report recent arrests

(1) Destiny Hall, DOB: 08/03/1990 Lafayette, LA

On October 8, 2020 at 01:27 Hrs Officers with the Turkey Creek Police Department observed a black in color Ford Fusion traveling northbound at a higher rate of speed than the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was conducted with the driver and Officers immediately smelled a strong odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The occupants told Officers that they recently smoked marijuana on the way from Crowley La while heading to Alexandria La for the evacuation of hurricane Delta. Officers observed four minor children in the vehicle and one of them was sitting on the passenger, Destiny Hall, located in the back-passenger side seat.

A K-9 sniff was conducted, and K9 Ice gave a positive indication of the presence of an odor of illegal narcotics. Officers asked again if there were anything illegal inside the vehicle and Hall produced a multicolored plastic bag with the words (4K's) green sweet scribed on the packaging in violation of L.A.R.S 1023. Inside the baggie was two brown in color cigars and one Presumed Marijuana bud in violation of L.A.R.S. 40:966 (E)and 40:981.1 possession of a CDS in a drug free zone due to the area of the stop.

After a thorough search of the vehicle, the driver was issued a citation for traffic violations and a warrant for the arrest for Destiny Hall D.O.B 08-30-1990, for violation of RS40:966-possession of marijuana, RS40:981.3-violation of a drug free zone, 4 Counts of RS14:91.13-illegal use of CDS in presence of a juvenile and RS40:1023-possession of drug paraphernalia.

(2) Tatayana Ledet Eunice, LA, DOB: 08/26/1998

On October 8, 2020 at 19:48 Hrs. Officers with the Turkey Creek Police Department observed a tan in color Chevrolet four door car traveling Northbound on U.S . Highway 167 near Pine St. located within the city limits of Turkey Creek. The vehicle's license plate light was not illuminating, in violation of L.A.R.S 32:304 (c).

A traffic stop was conducted, and contact was made with the driver. Officers detected a pungent odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle and requested vehicle documentation. While the driver retrieved the vehicle paperwork, Officers observed, in plain view, one Swisher Sweet package and a black baggie tied into a knot. Officers inquired about the objects observed and the passenger, Tatayana Ledet, stated that the package contained marijuana and claimed ownership, in violation of L.A.R.S 40:966 ( E ). A search of the vehicle produced approximately 3.9 grams of green vegetable material presumed to be Marijuana and the Swisher Sweets package with a cigar in violation of L.A.R.S. 40:1023. A warrant was issued for Tatayana Ledet for violations of RS40:966-possession of marijuana, RS40:981.3-violation of a drug free zone and RS40:1023-possession of drug paraphernalia. the driver was released on citation for the traffic violations and released.

(3) Johnisha Henry Pineville, LA DOB: 01/23/1990

On October 14, 2020 at 22:10 Hrs Officers with the Turkey Creek Police Department observed a dark colored Honda four door car traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 167 at a rate of speed in violation of L.A.R.S. 32:61.

A traffic stop was conducted, and contact was made with the driver, Johnisha Henry. During the field interview, Officers could smell the odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle and inquired about illegal narcotics inside of the vehicle. Henry advised that she did smoke earlier. K9 Ice was deployed on the vehicle and gave positive alerts to the odor of illegal narcotics. One on the driver's side front door and one on the passenger side front door.

After a complete search of the vehicle a gray zipped bag was located and contained a glass jar with a green vegetable material inside presumed to be Marijuana along with a brown in color grinder and various items of paraphernalia in violation of L.A.R.S 40:1023. Located in the center console of the front two seats was a blue cylinder tube containing a half-smoked Marijuana cigarette with green vegetable material, in violation of L.A.R.S 40:966. Henry was issued a citation for speeding and a warrant was issued violations of RS40:966-possession of marijuana, RS40:981.3-violation of a drug free zone and RS40:1023-possession of drug paraphernalia.

(4) Branson Vidrine VILLE PLATTE LA, 70586 DOB: 03/06/2002

On October 15, 2020 at 18:35 Hrs Officers with the Turkey Creek Police Department observed a tan in color Nissan four door car traveling southbound on LA Highway 13 inside the city limits of Turkey Creek. The vehicle was traveling with fog lights illuminated in the absence of inclement weather in violation of L.A.R.S 32:322D.

A traffic stop was conducted, and contact was made with the driver. Officers observed the passenger, Branson Vidrine, acting extremely nervous and was visibly shaking. Officers could smell the odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Officers observed Vidrine wearing an ankle bracelet for being out on bond. During the field interview with Vidrine, he admitted to being in possession of marijuana and recovered a plastic bag from his pants containing approximately 6.5g of Marijuana. Vidrine told Officers that he had a bag under the passenger seat with additional paraphernalia. Vidrine was advised of his rights per Miranda and arrested.

Vidrine was arrested for violation of L.A.R.S. 40:966 ( E ) simple possession of Marijuana, L.A.R.S. 40:981.3 possession of a CDS in a drug free zone, and L.A.R.S 40:1023 possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver was released on citation for traffic violations. Vidrine was transported and booked in Evangeline Parish Detention Center without bond at the time of booking.

(5) Silverio Ramon Jr, 1301 Abbeyville Rd, Orlando Florida

On 10/17/2020 at approx. 1348, Officers with the Turkey Creek Police Department entered a which originated in the jurisdiction of Pine Prairie. Upon entering into Turkey Creek, Officers observed the vehicle approaching the intersection of La Hwy 13 and US 167N and attempt to make a right turn onto US167N. Due to the high rate of speed the vehicle slid across both lanes nearly colliding the Officer’s patrol unit. The vehicle veered off the roadway into a yard almost hitting a tree. The pursuit continued south on US Hwy 167N where the driver of the vehicle was operating erratically, swerving in and out of oncoming traffic, almost wrecking several times into other vehicles. The vehicle was traveling in excess of 80mph in a 45mph zone.

Officers observed the passenger front tire blow out at which time Officers maneuvered their patrol unit forcing the driver to stop in a safe manner. The occupants were apprehended without incident.

During search incident to arrest, a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle and particles of a green leafy substance was observed on the person of both subjects. Numerous types of debit cards, card scanner, and a box with blanks (money transfer type cards) were also located. The items were seized as evidence.

Silverio Ramon Jr, 1301 Abbeyville Rd, Orlando Florida was transported and booked in the Evangeline Parish Detention Center.
