Traffic stops in Turkey Creek yield actions

On Thursday, March 4, officers with the Turkey Creek Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation.
Upon contact with the driver, Mathew Reed of Ville Platte, officers could smell the odor of presumed marijuana. After a brief field interview and consent to search the vehicle, presumed narcotics were located. Reed was cited for the traffic infraction and also cited for the presumed narcotics.
Then, on Friday, March 12, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation.
Upon contact with the driver, Jarvis Flanagan of Alexandria, he appeared to be extremely nervous when speaking to the officers.
Jarvis gave verbal consent to search the vehicle. After a thorough search of the vehicle, a firearm and presumed narcotics packaged for sales were located.
Flangan was arrested and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for booking.
Two days later, on Sunday March 14, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation.
Upon contact with the driver, Taylor Alfred of Church Point, officers could smell a strong odor of presumed narcotics emitting from the vehicle. After a thorough search of the vehicle, presumed narcotics were located. Taylor was cited for the minor traffic violation and also cited for the presumed narcotics.
