After the attorney for former Ville Platte High School Principal Melanie Moore and her husband Larry Moore claimed the allegations of sexual harassments against Larry were orchestrated by Evangeline School Board member Wanda Skinner for having a vendetta against the Moores, Skinner denied any such activity.
“My thing is why would I have a vendetta against the Moores,” Skinner stated. “I really don’t know them.”
According to Skinner, the allegations against Larry Moore were never reported to her until Arthur Sampson received a letter about the allegations.
“This happens all the time where we don’t get told anything,” Skinner claimed. “The Ville Platte High School incident allegedly happened in mid-October. I didn’t hear about it until after Arthur Sampson got the letter.”
Skinner expressed the Moores should have a vendetta against her for speaking out against the school board’s assignment policy. “It’s about doing what’s right,” said Skinner. “It’s about following the policy. It doesn’t matter if its Melanie or whomever. We have to follow the policy.”
Skinner concluded, “I’ve never been anything but cordial towards Melanie. We’ve never argued or anything. We never had any altercation or anything. I don’t understand how I have a vendetta.”
