At the request of Dr. Gwen Fontenot, president of the Evangeline Chamber of Commerce, School Board President Wayne Dardeau is calling a public hearing regarding Cabot’s tax exemption application. The public hearing will be held Tuesday, April 13, at 5:15 p.m. at Ville Platte High School. Everyone is invited.
The informational meeting is intended to provide discussion to help residents and business employees/owners understand the Industrial Tax Exemption Program that Cabot Corp. has requested and the proposed Cabot project. This setting will also allow for an exchange of questions and thoughts on all issues related to the matter. The sheriff’s office, the police jurors, and the school board members are expected to vote on the request on April 14 (police jury), April 21 (school board), and by April 27 (sheriff).
