On September 24, 2020, Pine Prairie Police Officer Cheree Eckhart observed a blue Kia being driven by
Donovan Shane Soileau, 9/19/1995. Eckhart had previously arrested Soileau one day prior, for driving
under suspension. Eckhart conducted a traffic stop with Soileau to verify that he was in compliance
with Louisiana Law pertaining to driving with a suspended license. During the field interview, Soileau
presented the officer with an identification of a relative, in attempt to conceal his identity. Soileau
admitted to Officer Eckhart that he did not have the money to bond out, so he gave a different
identification. Officer Eckhart verified Soileau’s driving status with Dispatch, which revealed that he
was driving with a suspended license. Donovan Soileau was arrested and charged with violating LaRS
32:415, driving under suspension and LaRS 14:108B© resisting an officer.
