In an effort to better meet the needs of the people of the parish, the Evangeline Parish Police Jury has entered into a three month trial period with People Protection App.
According to Police Jury President Ryan “LeDay” Williams, the app is for mobile safety and security reporting. Williams said, “It will be used as a modern tool that would allow the people of Evangeline Parish to help assist with issues that arise throughout our parish on a day to day basis such as safety hazards, security concerns, maintenance issues, and unsafe behaviors.”
Williams continued that the app “would enable everyone in our parish to easily and instantly report these types of issues. This app will allow for anonymous (or named) reporting without the fear of repercussions. The app will also allow the people of the parish to request for a follow up if desired.”
After the three month trial period, the police jury can continue the program or decide to cancel. If the police jury decides to continue the program, it will cost the parish approximately $1,500.00 per year.
The app can be downloaded on cellular and mobile devices.
