During this month’s meeting of the Pine Prairie Village Council, Mayor Quint West informed the council about the possibility of getting a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture to purchase new police units.
The mayor stated that a meeting with USDA representatives, the village clerk, and himself is scheduled for tomorrow, February 23. “The representatives are going to come and let us know the things to do to complete the project,” Mayor West said. “The representatives will inform us what we did not complete on the application and what we need to complete before we start the project.”
The mayor added that the amount of the grant is based on the village’s current financials.
Aside from a grant for new police units, Mayor West expressed that additional grants are available for other projects within the village.
